Collin's walking!

After several months of trying to get this balnce thing figured out...Colllin now has it mastered. I forgot how cute it is when they start walking. Arms in the air and crashing hard! Now he is into everything these days but at least i have a built in tattle-tail to tell me what Collin is getting into at all times.

Happy B-day!

Cameron is still embarrassed when we sing happy b-day. I can't say i blame him!

Cameron's 5!

This year i got away with just having another family B-day for Cameron. Mami, Papa Dave, Uncle Matt and Nana came to celebrate(papa was sick at home). Didn't mean to put this pic first but thats how it turned out. Collin is fascinated with the candle and cake

Papa Dave has started a new trend and has bought me a dozen or so of these wooden cars. Here is Cameron opening one of the presents and papa patient helping with the ribbon.

Here is the big wooden car! I think i need some clarification of what the name of these cars are. All i know is they are not made in China

Uncle Matt always brings more to the table. He is very good at imitating a dirt bike i must say!

Here is the cake made. Yes i have taken up a new career in baking cakes. I think i already know what i'm going to make for Ryan's b-day...Cameron was very happy with the final product

I can't even believe it's already been five years since Mr. Cameron arrived. I remember after he was born feeling so overwhelmed and Ryan and i both had no idea what we were doing. Ryan even asked if we could give Cameron baby Nyquil the first night we brought him home. I was pretty emotional for about a week after his arrival and i cried about everything. Totally different when we brought Collin home. Anyways, Cameron is our spirited child and is very stubborn (wonder where he gets that) but he can also say the cutest things that just melt your heart. One day out of the clear blue he tells me that i make his heart beat happy. I just melted when he said this to me. Cameron has taught Ryan and i everything we know thus far about parenting and i feel sorry for him that he has to be the first. I think Cameron is going to be an amazing child and adult. He truely is interested in everything and is very smart. I always talk about what a good baby Collin is but i think Cameron will be an easier teenager than Collin because he is so cautious about everything. Cameron has truely put life into perspective for Ryan and i and has tested our patients at the same time. The last couple months he has seemed to be phasing out of the fit stage but now he is becoming more persuasive. His passion is trains, and he says when he grows up he is going to be a fire fighter, an astronaut, a builder and he wants to be like Papa Dave (his best friend). We are excited about him becoming a young man but a little sad at the same time. We are so happy to have you as a son and we love you very much! Happy 5th Buddy!

2nd cousin

Last weekend Collin and Cameron got to meet a 2nd cousin. They don't have any first cousins yet (uncle Matt better get this show on the road) so it was neat to meet Mr. Rauri. Rauri was born in December and it was our first time meeting him also. I sat Collin next to him and they just smiled at each other then Collin crawled off and Rauri watched in amazement. They were too cute! Couple more months and they will be destroying Papa's house

Collin's B-Day party

To know ones surprise Collin dug right into his cake. I made him a smaller monkey cake on his birthday and made a larger one for his party. I was so happy when i saw him dig into his cake because on Cameron's first b-day he wanted nothing to do with it.
Playing with his new toy

It looks like a sugar high??

The monkey cake i made...

Pounding down some more cake

A new walking toy!

Collin has been been a little lazier than his brother was at this age so we thought it would be beneficial to get him a toy that would help him walk. Actually if you ask me, i could care less that he isnt walking but his dad really wants him to. Here he is at his b-day party trying out the new toy. We all thought it was hilarious to watch him walk.

A toast to my lil man...Happy B-day Collin!

One year ago today Collin Matthew entered our lives. I have to admit i was pretty dissapointed when i found out i was having another boy, but i got over it quite quickly as soon as i met him. Last year around this time i was wondering whether i would be able to pass nursing school with a new baby. I knew it was going to be difficult but i would do anything in my power to pass. The first time Ryan's grandmother held Collin at the hospital she told me he was going to be a good baby and a "fantastic" baby he was. I was prepared to have sleepless nights and crying but to my surprise that never happened. Collin never cried for more than 20 seconds and if he did all he needed was to be fed. When he did wake up at night all i did was feed him and he would fall back asleep. I think he knew coming into this world that he needed to let mommy finish school and in order for her to do that he needed to behave. He has brought us soooo much joy and everybody that meets him falls in love with him. Even strangers come up to him and he just charms them with a smile. I look forward to coming home and seeing him everyday and i even enjoy getting him in the morning ( i am the worst morning person) but his smile brightens my day. I already miss him being little and i feel sad that his first year is already over. I dont remember feeling sad when Cameron turned 1, it must be a second child thing. I look forward to watching Collin grow and develop into a lil man. I hope he continues to be a wonferful baby because i have one more year of school to go. Happy Birthday my lil man, We all love you so much! More pictures to come from his party which is Saturday
